Children are our future and it’s important that they’re given every opportunity to succeed in life. Those kids who grow up in developing countries often lack access to extra-curricular activities to help promote their growth and development. The Youth Development Volunteering in Zimbabwe project aims to combat that by providing children, teens, and young adults in Victoria Falls with the support they need to grow up and determine their own futures.
Youth Development Volunteering in Zimbabwe
The Youth Development Volunteering in Zimbabwe project places volunteers at a youth center in Victoria Falls. There they are tasked with helping to encourage the growth and development of local children and young adults. Those attending the center range from age 5 to 25.
Volunteers will help the kids by providing various forms support and care. They can assist with homework and learning, help them with sports, create other forms of extra-curricular activities, and reading to and helping the youngest kids with developing good hygiene habits and social skills will create a lasting impact. Talking with the older teens and young adults about other cultures will help open them up to a bigger world and encourage them to follow their dreams.

Criminal Record Check
GOAT Volunteers requires a criminal record (background) check for all projects working with children. Inquire with your local police department to see if they offer this service (many do for free or a small fee). U.S. citizens can visit the U.S. Department of State website for additional information.
The criminal record check must be submitted to GOAT Volunteers after the prospective volunteer’s application is accepted and at least 30 days prior to the project start date.
