Volunteer coaches can change the lives of disadvantaged children through sports coaching and helping out in their local communities. This project will change your life as you inspire young children through Africa’s most common sporting activity: football (soccer). Volunteers impart their expertise in conditioning, skills development, and game play.
Disclaimer: I (Justin) have not yet had the opportunity to spend time volunteering with this NGO. They approached me via social media and asked for a partnership. Based on my conversations with the team, and reviewing their program; I’m confident that this is an ethical organization and have decided to pursue the partnership.
In the interim, as it falls outside of the normal GOAT standards in terms of me (Justin) visiting / volunteering with the local NGO prior to representing them, the normal application fee is reduced from $250 to only $150 for the first 2 volunteers. These trail-blazing volunteers will be asked to provide GOAT with a review of the project as well as photos/videos for use on this website & social media to help encourage future volunteers. With a wide array of projects, this is an organization that can help Tanzania in a variety of ways with the help of motivated and intrepid volunteers!
Sports Coaching (Soccer) Volunteering in Tanzania
Soccer is Africa’s most common sporting activity. There are a lot of young people who possess natural talent, but lack opportunities to attain a living through the sport due to lack of professional coaching or training.
Volunteers engage in coaching activities, training youth, scheduling and game strategy. If you have a love of the game and the knowledge to teach young players, this is an excellent opportunity for you!

Criminal Record Check
GOAT Volunteers requires a criminal record (background) check for all projects working with children. Inquire with your local police department to see if they offer this service (many do for free or a small fee). U.S. citizens can visit the U.S. Department of State website for additional information.
The criminal record check must be submitted to GOAT Volunteers after the prospective volunteer’s application is accepted and at least 30 days prior to the project start date.
Volunteers interested in coaching should possess experience playing and/or coaching the sport they wish to work with. This ensures that the volunteer coach has a sufficient understanding of the game and the skills necessary to provide guidance to young athletes.
