Sri Lanka Marine Conservation & PADI Open Water Diver Course
Have you ever wanted to explore the deep blue sea? Want to get up close and personal with some of the most interesting and beautiful creatures on the planet? Then SCUBA diving should be on your bucket list!
What is the PADI OWD?
“Open Water Diver (OWD) is an entry-level autonomous diver certification for recreational scuba diving. Although different agencies use different names, similar entry-level courses are offered by all recreational diving agencies and consist of a combination of knowledge development (theory), confined water dives (practical training) and open water dives (experience) suitable to allow the diver to dive on open circuit scuba, in open water to a limited depth and in conditions similar to those in which the diver has been trained or later gained appropriate experience, to an acceptable level of safety.” (Wikipedia)
Our NGO partner in Sri Lanka offers the PADI Open Water Diver Course as a part of a stand alone short Marine Conservation program. This one-week course includes a 5-day training course and all of the included services (local transportation, room, meals, etc.) listed for the volunteering projects. It can be added to the beginning or end of any volunteer project or as a stand alone program without any volunteering commitment. However, individuals who book the PADI course along with a volunteering project, do receive a discounted price.
Price with a volunteer project: $850
Price without a volunteer project: $1,000
